Writer’s block is real… can I get a hallelujah! I have been having a tough time getting posts out there. The creative juices haven’t been flowing as freely as they normally do. And the slump sucks. All good writers know this. If you haven’t ever had it, you are probably doing it wrong. There is nothing worse than having great ideas that really won’t get to paper. It is like being a piano maestro with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
So I was advised to stick to my writing routine but that hasn’t worked out either. You see, I am a night writer. Sounds cool. Rhymes with chip – Knight Rider. Pretty sweet. But my routine turned to be an egg on face affair. i don’t do coffee so the only way to stay up is to down a can of baked beans, Popeye style, then lie restlessly in my room that conveniently lacks an AC. The rest happens organically. Bloatedness. Sweating. Inspiration – writing.
But just like any addiction, you develop a tolerance. So now I just sleep through the discomfort to wake up with a bad constipation… and supple skin, smooth as a baby’s bum. The sweating has done me wonders apparently.
Anyway, the next chapter beckons.
